Arts and crafts Footstool made from oak, possibly Elm with a traditional handmade rush seat.

Such a unique antique find, believed to be an Early American piece made in circa 1900, this would have been hand turned and constructed during the Arts and Crafts period but it has a lovely country cottage/ farmhouse appeal and I can imagine this used as a Fireside Stool or possibly a little side table to add another layer of character to a period property.

The shape is stunning with a slightly curved profile and Bobbin effect details on the sides and legs.

This item has some general wear consistent with age, including some patina and wear on the edges of the wooden frame. The rush pad is in great condition, completely intact on the top and bottom with no broken strands and the Stool stands solid.
